This Privacy Policy describes how ProcessFlow, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"), doing business as Scale for Grams, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application Scale for Grams: Weight & Food ("the App") and our website at scaleweight.14x.app ("the Website").
Information We Collect
We are committed to minimizing data collection. The App is designed with a local-first architecture — your scan results, preferences, and history are stored exclusively on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
Information You Do Not Provide
We do not require you to create an account with personal information. The App uses anonymous authentication — a random identifier is generated on your device solely for the purpose of managing your subscription status and enforcing usage limits. This identifier cannot be linked to your real identity.
Camera and Photo Data
When you use the scanning feature, the App accesses your device camera or photo library with your permission. Photos are sent to our secure cloud processing service for AI analysis only. Images are processed in real time and are not stored, retained, or used for any purpose other than providing you with scan results. No images are saved on our servers.
Automatically Collected Information
We use analytics services to understand how the App and Website are used and to improve our services. These services may collect device type, operating system version, app version, general usage patterns (such as which features are used and how often), and session recordings of app interactions for quality assurance. This data is anonymized and cannot identify you personally.
Error and Performance Data
We use error reporting services to detect and fix bugs. When an error occurs, diagnostic information such as error type, device model, operating system version, and app state at the time of the error may be collected. This data does not include personal information.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect to: provide and maintain the App's core functionality (weight estimation, calorie counting, object identification); process your subscription and verify your entitlement to premium features; analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the App; detect, investigate, and prevent technical issues and errors; comply with legal obligations.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following categories of third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies: cloud infrastructure providers (for anonymous authentication and AI processing); subscription management and payment processing services (for managing in-app purchases through the App Store); analytics providers (for understanding usage patterns and session recording); error reporting services (for crash detection and bug fixes).
Data Retention
Since we do not collect personal data, there is minimal data to retain. Anonymous usage analytics are retained for up to 12 months. Error reports are retained for up to 90 days. Your anonymous authentication identifier persists until you delete the App or request account deletion.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access, correct, or delete your data; opt out of analytics tracking; request data portability. Since we collect minimal data and use anonymous identifiers, most requests can be fulfilled by simply deleting the App, which removes all locally stored data. For account deletion, use the "Delete Account" option in the App's Settings, which removes your anonymous identifier and all associated data from our systems.
Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we use anonymous authentication and do not collect personal data, the App is designed to be safe for users of all ages.
International Data Transfers
Our cloud processing services may be located in different regions. When photos are sent for AI analysis, they may be processed in a region different from your location. As noted above, images are processed in real time and are not retained.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
